High-Quality Water Service: Water Treatment and Testing
At the end of every water pipe, there's a family or business depending on us to provide clean water. Water quality is vital — and we take testing and treatment very seriously.
Our water treatment process ensures that each customer can count on high-quality tap water 24 hours a day. From the source to tap, our scientists, plant operators and experts consistently monitor for over 90 contaminants.
Source Water transferred through our system goes through five basic steps: Coagulation, Sedimentation, Filtration, Disinfection and Storage.
Using the most advanced technology in the industry, New Jersey American Water ensures that all water that travels through our system is thoroughly tested. New Jersey American Water also has access to American Water’s Central Laboratory in Belleville, Illinois, a world-renowned research laboratory focused on water quality.
Our outstanding water quality performance and operations improvements have earned five Directors Awards from the U.S. EPA’s Partnership for Safe Water program.
